这是从电影《最好的时光》中听来的一首歌。在第一段爱情故事中，《Rain and Tears》一共出现了两次，一次是在张震当兵以后，给舒淇写信时提到了这首歌，“Rain and Tears，就像我的心情……”背景音乐适时想起，舒淇露出一点浅浅的笑意；一次是在故事结尾，两人出游误了班车，在绵绵细雨中《Rain and Tears》的旋律再次出现，雨中的张震将手慢慢伸向静立的舒淇，十指紧扣。从此，这首歌带着些许青涩爱情的味道留在了我记忆之中。
事实上，《Rain and Tears》的歌词本身有一些淡淡的伤感。但大概是电影影响了我对歌曲的情感判断吧，我却能从歌曲中听出点点恋爱的甜蜜来。淡淡的伤感，淡淡的甜蜜，这是一种奇妙温馨的感觉，可以让人安静，非常安静。我还曾经用同样的两个词形容过一部电影——《假如爱有天意》，跟《最好的时光》一样，跟《Rain and Tears》一样，都是很安静很平淡的作品。我喜欢这样的作品。
说一点跟歌曲本身相关的事情吧。这首歌最早在1968年由 Aphrodites Child（爱神之子合唱团）创作并演唱。电影中说这首歌出自 The Beatles ，不知道是不是误传，我在网上并没有能找到这个版本。另外，《奥斯卡金曲》中也收录了这首歌，不知是最早出自哪部电影（《雨人》？知道的朋友麻烦留言说一下）。《Rain and Tears》的旋律由经典曲目《卡农》改编而来，让听者感觉舒适而亲切。

这首王筝的歌已经喜欢了很久，第一次是高中时在 Music Radio 的音乐排行榜上听到的。歌曲最大的特色是将美声与通俗唱法进行了融合，使其在同一首歌中相互配合，交替出现。尤其是歌手由通俗向美声的转换，相当巧妙，第一次听到时出人意料，令人惊艳。更可贵的是，这种由通俗向美声的转换是由王筝亲自演绎出来的，而非后期处理的结果。我曾经在 Music Radio 听过王筝的现场演绎版，尽管转换得没有专辑发行版那样流畅，不过也可以听出王筝的功力了。
今天要介绍的歌曲名叫《Close To You》。第一次听到这首歌是在赵薇、舒淇、莫文蔚主演的电影《夕阳天使》中。影片一开头就出现了这首歌曲，在轻松雅致的旋律中，轻松对付着一整栋大厦保安的舒淇自信而性感，如舞蹈般华丽的打斗相当令人赏心悦目。只要这么一刻，我已经同时爱上了这部电影和电影中的这首插曲。
在《夕阳天使》做插曲的《Close To You》是由莫文蔚演唱的版本。上网一查，才发现其原唱竟是美国的卡朋特乐队（Carpenters）。如果你对这个乐队的名字还不太熟悉的话，那么对他们的歌曲《Yesterday Once More》总不应该陌生了吧？这首奥斯卡金曲现在几乎已经成为了每所中国中学英语教师的必教曲目——当然前提是你的英语老师不讨厌唱歌。
《Close To You》出自卡朋特1969年发行的首张同名专辑。30多年过去了，即使今天去听卡朋特的原唱，也几乎察觉不出来这已经是30年前的流行歌曲。整首歌旋律清新优美，歌词上口，充满诗意和想象力，非常适合恋爱中的人来听。

上个世纪80年代中期，饥荒肆虐非洲，许多国家饿殍遍野，人的生存权力在饥饿中承受着巨大的挑战。在这样的背景下，由 Michael Jackson 和 Lionel Richie 编写，美国当时最红的45位歌星共同录制了一首公益歌曲《We Are The World》。
